In reply to your application of three and a half months' vacation leave, I am directed by the Officer Administering the Government to inform you that His Excellency is of opinion that he has no authority to grant you more than two months' vacation leave; but that, if you are entitled to more, application may be made to the Secretary of State for the Colonies, and this Government will be willing to recommend you for the half pay leave to which you are entitled.
His Excellency approves of the appointment of Major Dempster Ad Deane, Esqr, Capt. Supt. of Police locum tenens.
